Hello...

Welcome to our website

Through open homes events Bristol Green Doors brings together householders and organisations from across the city to celebrate the homes that people are making fit for the future. We enable visitors to talk and listen to those who have made their homes energy smart, more comfortable, cleaner for the environment and cheaper to heat.

These events are run to encourage the uptake of retrofitting or refurbishment of local homes. As visitors go on to make their own homes better as a result of what they learn, we are also contributing to an area of our local economy which is expected to grow significantly over the coming years.

By working closely with the householders, commercial and not-for-profit organisations, we are steadily developing a resource that will be of benefit to our city for years to come. This website will soon be featuring case studies of all the homes participating in our March 17-18th event. These will feature products, suppliers and contractors used in the homes.

Bristol Green Doors let the householders speak for themselves - we do not offer advice on retrofitting other than encouraging people to attend our popular events.

March 17-18th event

Our next general energy saving open homes event will be on March 17-18th 2012. This will feature 42 homes across Bristol open between 12.00 and 6.00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The event is free though donations are welcome. We have a great selection of homes participating showcasing a whole range of measures and technologies. Many thanks to Bristol Council for their commitment to making this happen. Click here for more information and keep visiting this site for updates or sign up for our newsletter.
